Darcy Coates

Darcy Coates  Darcy Coates has been facilitating mastery of computers in the arts and business since 1984. With degrees in computer science, art history, and museum studies, applying PCs to creative pursuits naturally became a specialty. Her teaching skills were honed training coworkers on software applications she customized for a variety of corporate and educational projects (from cash flow projections for regional expansion of an HMO, to initial inventory of a 19th-century art museum’s world-class collection). She went on to teach computer literacy classes for Burlington’s ONE Community Tech Center and the Vermont Department of Employment and Training (coordinating their partnership). Later securing technology grants for UVM’s Fleming Museum, she expanded their broadband Internet access, upgraded PCs, trained end-users, and implemented their first networked collections management system. Under the DBA, Vermont Cyber Cottage, Darcy is now a full-time eBay seller, computer trainer, and coach to creative economy entrepreneurs expanding their markets through e-commerce.
